My Buddha baby is 3

My Buddha baby turned 3. Here he is wearing the cool Lightning McQueen stickers that Grandma Zmolek sent.

Drew also loved all the new toys that Zack got. I think Drew's favorite is the bulldozer.

But eating screws is good also.

Is that Drew or Popeye?

When we were at Rose's house for Matt's birthday party. Zack saw this tool set and ask "mine"? He was told "No". He continued to play with it and poked holes in the packaging. So Rose and Carl decided since he liked it so much to give it to him for his birthday.

Thanks Ethan and Abbey for the cool Thomas set. He loves it.

Zack loved the cool water guns Josh and Xan gave. Later that night Matt taught Zack how to use them to shoot water at me.

Another fun cupcake creation. Spaghetti and Meatballs anyone? I made these for the big party with all of the friends. Now I have to decide what to do for Drew's birthday.

A fun day. We celebrated just the 4 of us on Friday and had a big party with friends on Saturday.

Drew took a swipe at the cake while we were singing happy birthday. If you watch the movie you can see it at the very beginning.

Zack showing off Zurge. It matches the Buzz Lightyear he got for Christmas. All we heard for the next 2 days was "destroy buzz lightyear, destroy buzz lightyear".

Just made a simple cake since I was planning on doing the cupcakes on Saturday.

Matt reading the dinosaur book Grandma Allen sent while Zack checked out Zurge.

For those of you that can not figure out how to play with Zurge. Here are the directions.

Zack taking pictures with his new camera. This way maybe he will not want to play with mine so much.

A few weeks before his birthday Zack decided he wanted Wendy's. So we told him that for his birthday we would go and get him Wendy's for dinner.

Zack with his chicken sandwich.

Drew playing with the bulldozer.

Two of the crazies in my life

Zack trying to decide if he is going to smile and look at the camera. It takes a lot of thought. The boys love it when I make a tent for them on the couch.

Bet you didn't know Lightning McQueen tasted so good.

Trying to eat in piece.

Room for only two.

Daddy and Zacky time.

Zack ready to do some gardening. To bad it is dark outside my flower beds need to be weeded.

Drew out to get Oreo. Oreo better run Drew like to pull kitty hair.

Drew was using Zack's trike as a walker. They both thought it was great.

Zack and I were eating grapes and he put one in eat cheek like a little chipmunk.

We were watching Men in Black and Zack thought the music was great to dance to.

Drew and Zack having a little bit of fun.
Zack had a accident so Matt had him go get new pants. He brought out his camo pants and noticed that Matt had his camo shorts on also.

Happy Old Farts Day

For those of you that don't know our joke. Matt is 6 months older then I am so 6 months out of the year he is young with me and the other 6 months he is an old fart. Just happens this is the start of the old fart half.

I had a small surprise party for the old fart at our friend Rose's house. The key is to have the party at a location that you always go to. We are always at Rose's house at least once or twice a week

I made corn on the cob for his birthday cake. My great mother in law gave me this cute cupcake book so I decided to make one. We ran out of jelly bellies that is why one is bare. I still think they turned out good.

Matt and I. We are laughing because they told us to look like we like each other. I think after almost 8 years of marriage and 2 kids we like each other just a little bit.

It's my birthday gift to me. I'm so happy!

Well, I'd be happier if I had finished the whole 50. I had 3 "small" loops around town that I combined to make my huge 50 miler. I left at 7:30 pm Friday night and got home 4:30 Saturday morning. The weather was beautiful- perfect for running; not too humid; not raining (like I originally thought it would); not hot (only 70).

I carried my cell phone with me just in case I needed to call Amy and ask her to pick me up from forever away. Luckily, it never came to that. But I did call a couple friends (Brian Neesham and Leslie Farnsworth) and that helped take my mind off running for awhile. I even had a friend (Kate) who fed me at her house after I had run 18 miles. The fiesta taco was good. Then I had another friend (Steve Mineer) offer to ride his bike while I ran. He not only was there to talk to for 14 miles, but he also brought Gatorade, pretzels, and a granola bar. Thanks for the mental and physical aid! My wonderful wife, Amy, also helped out a ton. She had worked Thursday night and spent all of Friday with two ornery kids (without much of a nap). Then she brought Pedialyte twice for me as I finished one loop and started the next. She was running on empty with 3 hours of sleep in 36+ hours. It was a spectacular birthday present.

Well, I only had about 11 miles remaining as I started my 3rd and final loop. I got through about 7 miles into it, and I really felt like I needed to walk. So I did. But then I also closed my eyes. I felt like if a cop would have driven by, they'd have thought I was drunk. I debated as to whether I should continue or go back home. My weak will forced me home. I started running again, and about a mile and a half before home I got a second wind (mentally). I considered running a bit farther since I had "tricked myself" into running more. But I decided against it. If I had only known I needed a mere 3.5 miles extra, I think I'd have run and finished it. Oh well. I'll finish it some other time. I'm glad it's done and eagerly look forward to more similar fun.

Pics, Park, and Baseball

Grandma Allen wanted pics of the boys so this morning we had a photo session. Zack was either cheesing it really good or grumpy.

Amy was sticking out her tongue to try and get Zack to laugh but he just stuck out his tongue also.

Drew's turn.

The other day Matt was ask if he could stay after school and help with tutorials. So the boys and I went to the park. We were there for 2 hours.

A couple pictures of Zack by Zack.

Uncle Pat and Chris came to visit so we went to see the Astros play the Giants.

Amy and Drew watching the game.

Zack sporting his Astros hat. Zack was very excited to watch baseball.
