A day in the life of Zack

Zack watching a movie with his thumb and burp rag; two things he cannot go anywhere without.

The joys of playing with the box that his books go in. He enjoys to read books with you but sometimes the box is just more fun.

Big boy room

Zack playing in his big boy room. He loves to play in there. We spend most of our morning playing in there with all of his toys. He also loves to run around pointing to all of the cars. We are still working on him leaving the car stickers on the wall. It did not take him very long to figure out that he can take them off and put them on him. The flower quilt (below picture) is gone. It has been so warm lately that he just needs a small blanket, if that. He also has bed rails now so that he will not roll out of bed (not that it's a far drop to the floor).
Zack got to sleep in his big boy room on March 2nd. He fussed a little when we put him down. I was very impressed with how well he really did. He stayed there all night until 6:40 am when he woke up crying. I think it was just waking up in a new place. After I went up to get him, he did not want to even lie there with me. So we went down and hung out in mommy's bed. Since then, he has been up anywhere between 5:45 and 7:00 am. He makes his way down to mommy's room because he has learned that he can open doors. This is hard on mommy. So Matt put one of those door knob covers on his door so he can get in but not out. Now Zack has to wait for mommy to get him around 7:30 or 8:00. So far it is ok with him- he has enough toys to keep him happy for a while. Also since daylight savings time it stays darker in his room for longer.

The crazies I live with

Here are the crazy cats doing what they do best. Jewel and Rudy sleeping together. This is why we adopt two at a time. Then they have at least one friend. Jewel has gotten better. There is hardly any hissing and getting mad because someone is too close. The other day she even sat on my lap while Zack pointed out to me that Jewel had eyes, ears, a nose, and a mouth. Then there is the ever entertaining watching of the fish. They are always entranced by and try to get the fish. It must be hard to be so close to something you want and not be able to get it.
Zack with the two most important things in the world- a sippy of milk and daddy's cell phone. How can you ask for anything more?
Yummy. That fire man must taste really good.

That was hard work

It was warm so we let Zack and the cats out in the back yard. This is what you do after you are done mowing the lawn. It must of been a really hard job. Zack got the lawn mower for Christmas so he could help daddy with the yard work.

Bees, Bikes, and Parked Cars

Here's the article from the local newspaper. (If the article is too small, just click on it and it should open up a new window and take up the full page.) My mom is the unnamed woman. She broke her leg just below her knee and it's interfering with her artificial knee. Other than that, it seems that she's okay and should be able to leave the hospital soon.

Bees, Bikes, and Parked Cars

Here's a couple of pictures the local newspaper had of the truck my mom ran into.

I am a cat.

Matt asked Zack if he was ready for his nap. So Zack decided he was going to take a nap in the kitty bed. Too bad he is too big for it.

Zack decided to walk around with the kitty bed on his head. Good thing the bottom is mesh so that he could see a little. Yes, we love him even though he is crazy.

Zack

Zack with one of his books after his bath.

Zack eating his favorite food. You would never know that when I was pregnant with him. They made me sick.

Zack playing in the coffee table. He threw something and it broke the glass. So Zack has decided it is the coolest place to play until mommy gets a new piece of glass.

Crazy Cats

The cats love to take over the bed during the day. They think it is a warm place to sleep.

The cats love the fish tank also. Here's Sasha trying to get a fish.

First Haircut

No more curls.

Still a very cute boy.

The comb tastes good.

Half way done.

Ready to start.

Baby Zmolek

Well, the good Lord has decided to keep the Zmolek tradition. We had our Ultrasound today and found out that, yes, we are having another boy. Zack gets to have a little brother. We had to laugh at a few of the texts which we received after the announcement via text message. Our favorites are from Uncle Jon: "Welcome to the curse of the Zmolek x" and Uncle Ant: "Yeah. What did you think it was going to be?" We have yet to decide on a name for this little one, though it is already refered to as Parker by some people. The reason behind Parker is this. When I was first pregnant, I had a dream that we had this little one 2 months early and we named him Parker. I do not know why we named him Parker, for I had never thought of that name before. We will probably just name him when the birth certificate lady comes around. That is when we decided on Zachary (out of the four names we had picked out).

Happy Birthday to me

As many of you know, my birthday was back at the end of October. Our friend, Courtney, had given us the tank and stuff last May. I have been bugging Matt that we need to get it going. But being us, we just put it off and Matt said for my birthday that I could get fish. Well my birthday came and went with no fish. Then, last Thursday, Zack and I were watching Finding Nemo. At that point I decided to set up the tank. I got all the plants in and realized that I had forgot all of Courtney's directions. So I had her come over that evening and help me. Then on Saturday while Matt was judging a science fair, Zack and I filled the tank. We let the water and filter settle until Monday afternoon. After I got my hair cut, we went to PETsMART to buy fish. So, here is my tank and all my fish. I think I have around 26 tropical community fish. There are 6 different kinds.

Hold on tight!

Zack riding his new horse. Thanks Candace (Matt's coworker) for passing it on to Zack.

Enjoying Christmas presents

Zack loving his Christmas presents.

Look Mommy. I have a sheep.

Looking for more books to read.

Zack reading his books. He's quite the bookworm.

Daddy's big helper

Zack helping Matt take down the Christmas lights. He climbed up the ladder all on his own.

Christmas

Zack waiting for daddy to be done talking with Uncle Pat so he can open presents.

Christmas Eve

Matt went on a 13 mile run after Santa came. (Santa came just before midnight.) He got home around 2 a.m. finishing the 13 miles in 1:45:10 (8:05 pace). Not too bad, but plenty of room for improvement.

Santa came to the house and wanted to watch The Christmas Story.

Christmas Eve at Josh and Xan's. Josh got a piano for Christmas. You can tell he hasn't had it for very long.

Zack and Homer

Zack and his new favorite Christmas decoration. Thanks Candace.

Our Little Monkey

Zack has learned to climb on almost anything.
